A New Life

While this 1988 flick from Alan Alda is a worthy follow-up to his previous film Sweet Liberty, a long-time favorite of mine since childhood, it's a bit of a downgrade, but only by the scale of my personal taste. The quality is just as strong, but some aspects weren't working at all in my view, especially the casting of Ann-Margret. And again, not because of quality, but it was a error in casting, and I just don't find her convincing in the role whatsoever.

Regardless, if you're a fan of Alda, and/or a fan of Woody Allen-style films about city life and relationships, don't pass this up.
