Drive-Away Dolls

Screened on Peacock.

Now that the Coen Brothers have been involved in solo projects the past few years, it's clear where the majority of the "Coen Brothers vibe" comes from, and in my opinion it is not Ethan Coen. That's fine and great, they have a sort of magic when they combine their talents; the dynamics are different. With this film, I wasn't expecting that vibe, or similarities, but I was hoping for quality. Hard to tell who is to blame there, maybe the budget wasn't enough for what Coen and the script required, but whatever the reason, this just felt like what it mostly was, straight-to-streaming.

Wasn't expecting much going in, and sadly it was less than that. Not terrible, and I can see this having some supporters, but overall it was surprisingly weak.
