Meet Me in the Bathroom
I don't know, call me cynical but I find covering bands who are playing out tired cliches like being addicted to heroin and casually introducing crack cocaine into one's daily routine is just .... a bore. Add on top of it, for me personally, not finding this "NYC scene" all that important or memorable, it just drags this documentary down a lot. I get these bands are popular, or WERE, and I like a few of them for sure - but as a scene, this doc fails to explain to us why that scene is important or interesting to anyone outside of NYC. That's the doc's big hook, but how does this translate to the rest of us? The whole thing is less important and far more regional than I think the filmmakers or the bands may realize.
