Paradise

Screened on Fun City Editions blu-ray.

I don't feel like this is a film that needs any sort of in-depth analyzation. Not that I specialize in that with my "reviews" by any means, but if I did, I'm not sure I could do it. Paradise is not a bad film, but is it even a film? It felt like it's sole purpose was simply to be a place for a wanting audience to go and see the young, flawless bodies of both Phoebe Cates and Willie Aames. Don't get me wrong, Paradise is rather lovely to watch, and not just because of these two leads and their birthday suits, but also due to the Middle East setting, with the film shot entirely throughout Israel.

Basically the best way to describe this is as a "rip off" of, or inspired very strongly by the 1980 Brooke Shields and Christopher Atkins-led film The Blue Lagoon. So if something along those lines is what you're looking for, you won't be disappointed here. And with it all executed rather proficiently, the good and the bad balance out and make the experience overall a big wash.
