Scream VI

Fuck this movie. Fuck this franchise. It gets worse and worse and worse with every entry. Cut and paste. Roll credits.

The meta barfing. The NYC gimmick. The atrocious and cringey dialogue. The bored acting of people like Dermot Mulroney and Courtney Cox. The dull, derivative attempt at being a "slasher" when it's nothing but a murder mystery as painful to sit through as 'Knives Out' and it's horrid sequel. This is the kind of film that solidifies why to me society is crumbling, just absolute brain-dead cash-grabs with no artistic integrity whatsoever.

It must also be said - if you didn't like 'Friday the 13th Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan' because there "wasn't enough in NYC," well by that measure you have to HATE this abomination. Filmed entirely in Montreal, Quebec, it shows, and even worse it showed absolutely no inspiration from the city itself. The scenes where they put in effort to at least try and make it look like NYC were few and far in between, and lazy beyond belief. Just throw in those recognizable subway signs here and there and wheeeeee - we're in Manhattan. Fuck off.

The only good thing about this, and I mean ONE thing, was Jenna Ortega. She really acted here, and has such a presence, that it was impressive in her young career that she alone was able to breathe a little life into this thing.

Christ, this movie sucks. I'm depressed.
