Skinamarink
I've decided not to review this film as from all the reaction I'm seeing and hearing, it seems clear that in order to enjoy it, on whatever level that is (scares, artistry, etc.), the film has to hit you in a very specific and visceral way, where some certain part of your brain just "gets it," and "feels it."
There simply can't be "nothing here" when a decent enough number of filmgoers swear to the abject fear and horror this brought upon them. The roles have been reversed though. The 1999 smash 'The Blair Witch Project' - which I saw in a separate and lucky circumstance three months before the general public - was one of the most horrifying experiences I can remember at the theater. Meanwhile, others thought it was just a dude standing in a corner and thats the worst of it. So, I get it. I wish I was in on it like the lucky few. But that's what makes it even more special, yeah?
