The Blackening

I did like 'The Blackening,' but in a way it could be considered a frustrating viewing, in that to me it clearly had the comedic goods, but the stamina wasn't there. The humor was sporadic, or at least the humor HITTING was sporadic.

When it *was* funny, it felt inspired, you could feel the spark that started the ride of putting this film together. But this movie is not "fire." It is though funny and unique enough to give the film a shot, as what was missing was never enough to prevent me from enjoying it. In fact, overall it's enjoyable.

Oh and what is it about? I've seen it called "the black 'Scream,'" and while I'm not fully on board with that, it was what sold me on checking this out (strange, since I'm not into the 'Scream' franchise), so maybe it will have that same effect on you.
