UFOria
I was promised Sydney Sweeney.

Amusing is the right word to describe UFOria, a largely forgotten comedy/"sci-fi" flick released in 1985 after a few years of sitting on the shelf, for whatever reason I don't care to research. If you've ever seen the films Evolution, or Paul, or even say Tremors, that can give you an idea of the setting and general small desert-town vibes you'll get from this.
Story-wise I did enjoy the barely-explored connection between televangelism & other for-profit religious grifting, and UFO hysteria, but other than that, there wasn't a whole lot going on here. Cindy Williams basically shows why she wasn't suited for the silver screen. On the other hand, it's always good to see Harry Dean Stanton. But even a UFO actually showing up for the film's conclusion, and apparently sweeping up the film's leads moments before rolling the credits, could not make this even remotely memorable.
Like most UFO stuff, this promises potential of some kind, just not the level of energy or excitement you'd expect from a film involving the third kind.
