Violent Night
Watching this movie was one of those "I'm losing faith in humanity" kind of moments for me. Even the fact this was being called "the new 'Die Hard'" with shades of 'Home Alone,' when this was so very clearly the new 'Die Hard 2: Die Harder,' I just have to ask: "is anyone paying any god damn attention anymore?!?!"
Ok that was a bit "tongue-in-cheek" but seriously - this movie sucks. Some would say there were "odes" to those aforementioned films but to me it was just lazy, derivative bullshit. I also saw a few quick "odes" to 'National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation' and thats when it hit me that this felt like an AI movie, where the big bad computer thing creates its own "brand new" film based on data it finds in the vast abyss of the internet. I mean, I didn't even count Beverly D'Angelo in the cast as one of those "odes" or references. THERE'S MORE.
This is PRODUCT, not cinema.
Soul-draining, insufferable and vastly depressing to shit through. I mean sit through. Or really, either/or.
