SEATTLE, WA - The dream of the 90s being alive in Portland certainly inspired a particularly hilarious TV show that is close to airing its final episode in a few weeks, but the dream continues with the return of The Breeders. It's not like they ever went away; the band released two albums since their platinum-selling Last Splash, but this is the first with the lineup that churned out hits like Cannonball, Saints and Divine Hammer. Although the songs on the new album, All Nerve, don't hit that level of straight forward pop potential, it still sounds like a lost album from a bygone time. For fans of the band, this is music to their ears. It's pure Breeders, and as perfect as ever. Definitely check it out, AND, if you're interested, check out the video here from a recent performance of two album ditties, plus a radio piece from NPR on the band's return, and a short write-up at The New Yorker. Good stuff.
