SEATTLE, WA - Luckily not nearly as sad and depressing as I thought it was going to be, this Oscar-nominated 1984 documentary feature on the lives of nine Seattle teens forced into survival mode at far too young an age is - without question - still sad and depressing. But at the same time fascinating, as a time capsule with over 30 years having passed, and at the same time feeling like a narrative starring some of the day's future Hollywood stars. Well, I suppose as Courtney Love, a one-time Seattle resident once said, "I fake it so real, I am beyond fake." Was that a good quote to use? I think so.

Now, tell me what you think of all this.
